Animal Farm
This was created for my graphic design class at SVA. The book is an allegory that uses an animal uprising to mirror events in the Russian Revolution. I was inspired by the phrase, "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others." I used the inequality sign, typically used in math, as a metaphor to convey this quote.

First Love
This was a personal project. The novel is told from the perspective of a teenaged boy in love with his neighbor. The story ends poorly when he discovers that she was having an affair with his father. I chose to convey the feeling through the typeface by ripping it apart and xeroxing it to get a gritty, grungier feeling.

The Time Machine
One of the first sci fi novels written, it tells the story of a time traveler. I was inspired by a pair of white flowers that the time traveler was able to keep with him which served as the only proof that he ever time traveled. I chose to collage flowers inspired by lillies. Since they were flowers from the future, I chose not to use an exact image.
